My co-workers and I are in the process of planning a trip to Italy. The first part will be work in Florence and then we decided that Rome would be nice, so we booked flights to Florence and then back through Rome.
We then booked a train to go from Florence to Rome and we booked a hotel in Florence.
Yesterday, we got an email from our airline saying that they were canceling our flight and we would be placed on the next flight 2 days later!
I can't decide if this is a good thing or a bad thing.
Good: I can see more of Italy, maybe go to Pompeii
Bad: Two more days/nights means at least £100 maybe £200 more pounds...
We are looking for an alternative, but they seems just as expensive either time wise or money wise...
For example, fly to Milan then to London, stay the night in London and take a train.
I am half tempted to not get on the first flight to begin with...
